Suge Knight - Knight Loses Death Row Bid

LATEST: Hip-hop mogul MARION 'SUGE' KNIGHT has lost his appeal against a ruling forcing him to sell off all assets from his fallen Death Row Records label.

Knight, who first filed for bankruptcy in 2006 after the collapse of the company, was ordered by a California judge in May (08) to liquidate the label at an auction this month (Jun08).

He headed back to court on Tuesday (24Jun08) - when the sale was meant to take place - to argue the order, but his motion was refused and the judge ordered him to press ahead with selling off the rights to the legendary label's back catalogue.

The highest offer for the firm's assets came from Global Music Group bosses, who bid $24 million (GBP12 million) for the lot, reports website TMZ.com.

The sale includes the rights to all the recordings of stars including the late Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and his tracks with NWA.
